How does school screening work?
1. Partnership with the School:
Prior to the screening, Start Right will approach the school to establish a partnership for delivering school screening services.Â
2. Communication to Parents:
Once the school confirms the partnership, the school will distribute Start Right’s information, website details, and scheduled screening dates to parents through the school’s communication platform.Â
3. Booking the Screening:
Parents who wish to book a health screening for their child can do so directly by selecting their child’s school on Start Right’s homepage.Â
4. Registration and Consent:
During booking, parents will input their child’s information, select the required screening type, and complete payment directly with Start Right. You will also be asked to provide your consent. for your child’s participation and for Start Right to collect and process their personal data.
Â
5. Screening Day:
On the day of the screening, each child will be seen individually by a qualified paediatric healthcare practitioner. The screening process will be explained, and every child will be asked if they are ready to begin. Children will be made comfortable throughout the assessment.Â
6. Post-Screening:
After the screening, the child will be informed that they have done well, regardless of the result, and will be accompanied back to their class.Â
7. Delivery of Results:
Screening results will be emailed to parents or caregivers within 24 hours of the conclusion of the school screening period. Start Right recommends sharing the results with the school if the findings may impact your child’s learning or wellbeing.
