Referral Vision

  • Ophthalmologist:

An ophthalmologist is an eye care specialist. Unlike optometrists and opticians, ophthalmologists are doctors of medicine (MD) who have specific training and experience diagnosing and treating eye and vision conditions.

  • Optometrist

Optometrists are a primary healthcare provider trained to examine the eyes to detect vision problems and signs of common eye diseases such as cataracts or eye injury.

  • Optician:

Opticians are equipped with the skills to dispense and fit glasses based on prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.
